1890s A. BILLON 18K Gold Hunter/Savonette Swiss Pocket Watch

empressissi™ is pleased to offer this finely decorated Arnold BILLON top class Swiss pocket watch in solid 18K gold case. The watch was serviced in our atelier, it is working flawlessly, keeping good time.

This watch is part of a large 'Virginia Collection' we offer for sale, from an avid collector of mostly American made solid gold watches.

The watch houses an early classic Swiss 'Jules Jurgensen' style hi grade nickel finish movement which is decorated with Geneve stripes. It is a crown wind/pin set caliber, in overall excellent condition, running strong and keeping accurate time with sub seconds on 15 jewels. The movement is cased in an extremely elegant but above all well preserved hand engraved 18K solid yellow gold case with enamel trims. It is extremely hard to find cases in such a good original and crisp condition. The case is fully functional with a tight original bow, original crown and mint acrylic crystal. The lift spring is working properly.

The dial is a factory original white enamel with sunken sub seconds and Arabic numerals, it exhibits no visible damage and has an original set of decorated  hands.

This fantastic Swiss pocket watch measures 43mm side to side (excluding crown), The case alone weighs net gold content of 27g without the crystal, crown and movement.
