The items we sell
We specialize in the sales and restoration of Swiss and American, mechanical only watches, from 1900 to 1970 – ladies’, gents’ and pocket watches. All the watches we offer in our shop are unique items, fully serviced, tested and ready to wear. We do not anticipate that you will have maintenance issues with your watch for several years to come.

The vast majority of vintage watches, in particular gents watches, are far smaller than today's standards; for your convenience, we created a reference guide to help you get a better idea about the actual size of the watch. Please download this reference guide in PDF format and print it in actual size to get a better idea of what to expect.

All prices of are displayed in American Dollars (USD / $US).
If you choose to pay with a different currency, Paypal will automatically handle the currency conversion based on its official rate into US Dollars. We can also accept payments in EUR/GBP/JPY/ILS , but would need to invoice you manually. Please contact us for more information before you submit your payment.


Authenticity
Timepiece Ltd. is a world expert in vintage watches and we know how to spot a fake from a mile away. All large insurance companies in Israel rely on our appraisals for exotic timepieces and we sometimes find ourselves asked to give testimony in the civil court, in our role as nominated experts. All the items we sell are guaranteed to be authentic or your money back. We will happily provide you with a certificate of authenticity for any watch purchased with a value of $1,000.00US or above, free of charge. Should you require a certificate of authenticity for your records and/or for insurance purposes, Please indicate your request in the 'remarks to seller' field during checkout.


Condition of items

Some of the items we sell are factory originals and some have been partially or fully restored by us or others in the past. The condition of each item (as we believe to the best of our knowledge), in particular the dial, is clearly disclosed in the description field.

Our unique line of business specializing in older dress watches, is mostly associated with non-waterpoof watches for obvious reasons. As a result, we do not posses the necessary testing equipment nor do we deal with any waterproofing issues. All the watches we sell, including those marked by the manufacturers as 'waterproof' are to be considered non-waterproof and carefully treated as such, unless specifically mentioned otherwise.

All the products we sell - unless otherwise mentioned - are used items. In items of often 50-100 years of age, it is expected to see normal signs of wear and tear such as fine scratches etc., despite the fact that we try to maintain our collection in the best possible condition. We describe any noteworthy damage in the description. Kindly take a moment to examine the many photos of each item before you make up your mind regarding its condition.



Warranty
We offer a 30 day warranty on all watches and mechanical parts.
In the rare event of a problem with the watch, we will refund you in full on receipt of the returned, defective item, including the shipping you paid us. Please see the 'Return' and 'Refund' sections below for more details.



Shipping, packaging & Handling
Your item will be safely packed in bubble wrap, placed in a padded envelope or a box (depending on the item) with a leaflet containing important maintenance and usage instructions and shipped in a DHL service bag with a DHL courier bringing it to your door as part of their fully insured service. Our handling time is up to two business days (usually it is shipped the next business day) and the item is expected to reach you in an additional 2-5 business days, depending on your location and its Customs status. As of June 2017, we have shipped over 4,400 different watches to various locations in 60+ countries worldwide and so far have experienced no significant delays or damage.

Since all the items we sell are relatively small and light, the major factor in the shipping price is the insured value. As a result, the price of shipping is calculated based on a modest cost of packaging material plus the price DHL charges us based on the value of the merchandise. 

Should you require a gift box for any item, please indicate it in the 'remarks to seller' field during checkout and we will be happy to send your item in a free of charge gift box.

Please note, if you purchase and ship more than one item in a single shipment and require more than one gift box, the price of shipping may vary according to the new size/volume calculation; we will advise you of any change in costs by email after checkout has been completed.

As soon as the item has been dispatched from us, you will receive tracking details so that you can track your item independently and also schedule a delivery time which suits you directly with DHL.



Customs & Fees
Based on our knowledge and experience, we have managed to create some simple rules of thumb which apply to the majority of our customers depending on the country of destination. Please remember this information serves as a simple guideline and by no means should it be considered as legal advice. Responsibility to check for any requirements and applicable fees when importing goods from a foreign country lies solely with the customer.

American/Australian/Japanese customers:
The shipping fee we charge covers courier service and insurance from our door to yours. There are no further fees, taxes or any other related costs for items with a declared value of: up to $2,500.00 US for Americans / $1,000.00 US for Australians/Japanese. For items of a higher value, you may expect a delay of several days in delivery and customers may be required to pay a certain amount of tax.

EU/UK/Canadian/Singaporean Customers:
The shipping fee we charge covers courier service and insurance from our door to yours. There is no tax imposed on horological items, however you may be required to pay VAT/GST above a certain tier, normally equivalent to $100US. In some locations there will also be a small 'processing fee' that DHL charges for the handling of paperwork should the product be inspected by Customs.

Israeli customers:
The majority of our customers (above 90%) are of foreign origin. Therefore the prices shown on the website are export oriented and quoted without VAT. During checkout, if your shipping address is in Israel, VAT will be added to your purchase as required by law, and a commercial invoice (חשבונית מס) will be attached to your purchase.



Other Foreign Customers:
The shipping fee we charge covers courier service and insurance from our door to yours. Depending on your location, items may be inspected by Customs and various VAT/Taxes/Fees may apply. We suggest you check what to expect when importing horological items with your local Customs authority.

For your kind reference, the watches are exported as harmonized code/HS Tariff 9102.11 .




Returns
Empressissi offers a 30 day unconditional return policy for all watches and that also covers buyer's remorse. There are no questions asked (unless you feel we should know) and there are no restocking fees. However, please contact us in order to receive our return-mailing instructions and address. Please do not send your purchase back without contacting us first.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the condition in which you received it and if sold with a box/papers etc, they must be included, also in their original condition.

You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for the return of your item.
Return shipping costs are non-refundable. In the rare event of a problem with the watch, we will refund you in full upon receipt of the defective item, including the shipping costs you paid us. If returning a product for any other reason, we will deduct the cost of shipping you paid us from the total amount of the refund.



Refunds
Once your returned item has been received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you of such. Your refund will be processed within three business days of receipt of the item, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days, depending on the method used during checkout.
