empressissi™ is pleased to offer this early and sought after Art Deco GRUEN Quadron watch for men from the late 20s in gold filled case with enamel trims and a classic Guild early Swiss manual wind movement.
The watch houses a rare and early 157 'Quadron' barrel shaped caliber running on 15 jewels with sub seconds complication. It is cased in a classic rectangular shaped 14K yellow gold filled case with gorgeous Art Deco enamel decorations in Art Deco motif. All the design appears to be intact. It comes with a mint crystal and a good crown.
The dial is a factory original hard enamel with Art Deco style numerals. The dial had its hazardous Radium filling removed and was recently restored with luminous filling, carefully hand painted in our atelier with non-toxic Super-Luminova™ material. The same material was applied to the original set of decorated skeleton hands as well.
This rare Gruen watch measures 22mm side to side (excluding crown) and 37mm from top lug to bottom lug.
Attached to this watch is standard length, brand new 16mm wide genuine leather band in slim dark brown tone with an anti-allergic buckle in matching tone.
