empressissi™ is pleased to offer this all original and well preserved GRUEN dress watch for men from the mid 30s, an interesting historic model of the great depression era, where lower-jeweled Swiss movements were imported to the US market and adjusted locally to offer a more economic option. The watch is in excellent working order and ready to wear!
The watch houses a 700 Gruen GUILD caliber running on 7 jewels which is an economy version of the prestigious series for the great depression era. It is cased in a classic 10K yellow gold filled case with stainless steel back in classic Art Deco design in excellent shape with a mint crystal and a good crown.
The dial is factory original in very light salmon rose tone which appears more of a tinted silver tone. It is in excellent original condition with hard enamel print and has the original set of Breguet style hands.
This collectible GRUEN watch measures 26mm side to side (excluding crown) and 36mm from top lug to bottom lug and despite being designed for men, it is modest in size in today's standards.
Attached to this watch is a brand new genuine leather band in padded dark brown, 16mm wide, with an anti-allergic buckle in a matching tone.
