empressissi™ is pleased to offer this fantastic early and sought after GRUEN dress watch for men from the early 40s, with the legendary CURVEX movement. This watch is ready to wear, gift or add to your collection.
The watch houses an early 440 Curvex caliber which is the second out of three Curvex calibers and the most popular one in the series, running on 17 jewels with sub seconds. It is cased in a GRUEN original 14K solid gold case model 440-498 in rose tone and comes with a mint correct pyramid crystal and good crown.
The dial is a rare factory original - salmon-copper tone with pearl frame and original set of hands. The luminous material in the hands has been restored with Super-Luminova.
This collectible GRUEN watch measures 23mm side to side (excluding crown) and 33mm from top lug to bottom lug and is relatively modest in size even for a vintage watch.
Attached to this watch is standard length, brand new 16mm wide genuine leather band in slim dark brown tone with an anti-allergic yellow tone buckle.
