empressissi™ is pleased to offer this very early large 19th century period English pocket watch for gents, made in Sheffield.
The watch houses an early KWKS (Key Wind, Key Set) English retailed by J.G. Graves of Sheffield, quality gilt finished 15 jewels manual wind lever movement set in classic English design and indeed running on 14'400 beats per hour. The movement is working well and keeping good time. It is cased in a fantastic heavy open face case with clear Birmingham 1823 hallmarks and has a dust cover, all silver made in classic English design. It is supplied with a key.
The case has good hinges, good lift spring through the crown press, original mineral crystal in mint condition and is a fine example of an early English lever watch for the collector.
The dial is a factory original and exposes this model as 'The Express English Lever' by JC Graves of Sheffield. It is in near mint condition with no damage and has an original set of hands.
