40s GIRARD-PERREGAUX 'Sea-Scout' Bumper Automatic Gents Military Style Watch

empressissi™ is pleased to offer this rare and sought after WW2 period and style watch for men from the mid 40s in stainless steel case with an early Swiss bumper automatic wind movement.
The watch houses an early GP 89 / AS 1171 caliber running on 17 jewels which is a bumper automatic technology caliber, sought after among collectors. It is cased in a stainless steel 'monobloc' case made of two pieces - a bottom capsule for the movement and an upper frame including the lugs set with pressure over the crystal. It comes with an original acrylic crystal and crown.
The dial is factory original and gorgeous with military WWII style numerals over dual tone pearl white/silver background with old luminous material. The hands are original as well and had their luminous material restored with non-toxic Super-Luminova.
This original early Girard-Perregaux watch measures 31mm side to side (excluding crown) and 37mm from top lug to bottom lug and is modest in size even for a vintage watch.
Attached to this watch is a brand new old stock genuine leather, 16mm wide, quality NATO strap in black tone with an anti-allergic buckle in white tone.
