empressissi™ is pleased to offer this late 19th century period pocket watch for gents by the Swiss maker James Russell of Le-Locle, made for the British market.
The watch houses an early KWKS (Key Wind, Key Set) quality gilt finished 15 jewels manual wind lever movement. The movement is working well and keeping good time. It is cased in a fantasitc hunter style (savonette) gold filled case in very good condition with no wear. The case has good hinges, good lift spring through the crown press, original mineral savonette crystal, dust cover for the back and good crown and bow. It is hand engraved in guilloche style both front and back in Victorian motif with coined rim.
The dial is a factory original and rare enamel with Roman numerals and sunken sub seconds with original set of Breguet style hands. The dial shows some hairlines but no damage.
This one of a kind pocket watch measures 40mm side to side (excluding crown).
