1896 AGASSIZ Swiss 14K Gold Hunter/Savonette Pocket Watch

empressissi™ is pleased to offer this amazing, heavy and large Swiss top class AGASSIZ pocket watch in solid 14K gold case retailed by J.H. Johnston of NY. Agassiz was the earlier retail name for Longines in the US market with state of the art movements. The watch was serviced in our atelier, it is working flawlessly, keeping good time.

This watch is part of a large 'Virginia Collection' we offer for sale, from an avid collector of mostly American made solid gold watches.

The watch houses an early Swiss AGASSIZ large hi grade nickel finish crown wind, lever set movement in overall excellent condition, running strong and keeping accurate time with sub seconds.

The movement is cased in an original and marked KEYSTONE large hunter style 14K solid yellow gold 'Savonette' case with a a free bow, original crown with gold plate loss, tight hinges and good lift spring, mint acrylic crystal and overall fantastic condition with internal dust cover in 14K solid gold as well. The case features an elegant turn-engine pattern on the covers, floral engraving on the body and coin edge design on the bezel.

The dial is a factory original with elegant large numerals on white enamel with no signs of damage and has an original set of Louis XIV gilt hands.

This fantastic AGASSIZ pocket watch measures 54mm side to side (excluding crown), The case alone weighs net gold content of 59g without the crystal and movement.
