This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive, museum level collection of a retired IAF pilot that we are delighted to offer for sale in our website. In 2016 we serviced a small portion of his collection that was later auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial part of the collection for sale; these include repeaters, chronographs, Hunter-cases (Savonettes) and open faces antique pocket watches, most complex and interesting antique Swiss and American pocket watches of the finest standards.
The watch houses a an early Seaside 1890 grade, crown wind/crown set movement nicely decorated and in overall excellent condition, running on 15 jewels, keeping accurate time with sub seconds. The movement is cased in an Elgin 25 years 'Giant' 'Savonette' (Hunter style) case with gorgeous scallop/shell design, firm solid gold bow, original crown, good hinges and lift spring, near mint savonette acrylic crystal and overall fantastic condition with internal dust cover.
The dial is a factory original enamel white in excellent, damage-free condition with original set of hands.
This amazing savonette pocket watch measures 43mm side to side (excluding crown).
