1900s Hy MOSER 14K Gold Hunter/Savonette Pocket Watch
empressissi™ is pleased to offer this amazing, all original and in excellent condition Henry Moser sought after 'hunter' style pocket watch for men, large and impressive in 14K solid yellow gold. H. Moser, a Swiss industrialist and watch manufacturer was associated with IWC of Schaffhausen and was one of the few given permit to sell high end watches in Tsarist Russia.
This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive, museum level collection of a retired IAF pilot that we are delighted to offer for sale in our website. In 2016 we serviced a small portion of his collection that was later auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial part of the collection for sale; these include repeaters, chronographs, Hunter-cases (Savonettes) and open faces, most complex and interesting antique Swiss and American pocket watches of the finest standards.
The watch houses an early model 3 H. Moser 19 ligne large pinset caliber which is made of German silver and features wolf teeth winding mechanism is in overall excellent condition, running on 15 jewels. It is properly hallmarked and running strong, keeping accurate time with sub seconds. The movement is cased in a large 14K solid yellow gold 'Savonette' (Hunter style) case with firm solid gold bow, original crown, good hinges and lift spring, mint savonette acrylic crystal and overall fantastic condition with internal dust cover from 14K solid gold as well. The thick case, which weighs a net weight of 46g of gold has amazing Art Nouveau decorations in floral motif with an open cartouche.
The dial is a factory original enamel white with no visible damage featuring Roman numerals and original set of Louis XIV style hands.
