This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive, museum level collection of a retired IAF pilot that we are delighted to offer for sale in our website. In 2016 we serviced a small portion of his collection that was later auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial part of the collection for sale; these include repeaters, chronographs, Hunter-cases (Savonettes) and open faces vintage pocket watches, most complex and interesting antique Swiss and American pocket watches of the finest standards.
The watch houses a lever set quality Model 1874 grade 14-size chronograph movement of the finest standards, nicely decorated and in overall excellent condition, keeping accurate time with sub seconds and chronograph function of 60 seconds is properly working. The movement is cased in an original Waltham solid gold 'Savonette' (Hunter style) thick, large and impressive 'box hinges' case with firm solid gold bow, original crown, good hinges and lift spring, mint savonette crystal and overall fantastic condition with internal dust cover made of 18K solid gold as well. The case has a net gold weight of 82 grams.
The dial is a factory original enamel white with Roman design and original set of hands.
