empressissi™ is pleased to offer this unique and rare WALTHAM American made watch for ladies from the pre WW1. This movement was originally made in hunter setting for pocket/pendant watches but with the rising demand for wrist watches during the 1910's era, Waltham and others started selling them as wrist watches as well. Please note winding such movement is not easy.
The watch houses a fine manual wind grade, running on 7 jewels. It is cased in a relatively large B&B Royal 25 years gold filled case in great condition with the original mineral crystal and original bow and crown.
The dial is a factory original and is made of enamel in excellent condition with no damage and exhibits black numerals with red minute scale and what appears to be a hand painted cross/heart genuine painting, probably a sign of affection.
This watch measures 32,5mmm side to side (crown and neck excluded) and 40mm from the bottom to the top of the bow. Attached to this beautiful American Waltham watch is a matching GEMEX American made gold filled bracelet with adjustable clasp in matching tone, lightly aged and professionally ultrasonically and steam cleaned, ready to wear. It will fit a wrist of 150-155 mm comfortably.
Vintage watches are smaller than today's standards; To avoid the inconvenience of returns merely due to wrong size expectations, Please study the listed sizes and keep in mind that in most cases, vintage watches will be smaller than today's standards and are unlikely to fit a large wrist.
