This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive pocket watch collection of an IAF pilot veteran that we are pleased to offer for sale in our website. An earlier portion of this collection was serviced by us in 2016 and auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial second part of this pocket watch collection for sale; these include several complicated pocket watches, among them are some repeater pocket watches, chronographs, and other interesting antique Swiss pocket watches.
The watch houses an early complicated crown wind/crownset caliber, running on 15 jewels and adjusted to 4 positions, made of German silver of the finest standards. The dial side features a minute repeater complication, operating through an exterior slide. It is complete and working but will require adjustment. The time part of the watch is working flawlessly, keeping accurate time with sub seconds. The movement is cased in an elegant hunter style (savonette) 14K solid gold case with an original crown, good hinges mint crystal and overall fantastic condition with internal dust cover of14K solid gold as well. The net gold weight of this case is 28 grams.
The dial appears to be a later replacement and is made of enamel with several hairlines in English style with a matching set of hands.
