1910s ULYSSE NARDIN W. Gabius 14K Gold Hunter/Savonette Pocket Watch
empressissi™ is pleased to offer this amazing, all original and in excellent condition ULYSSE NARDIN top class sought after 'hunter' style pocket watch for men, large and impressive in 14K solid yellow gold. This watch was retailed by W. Gabius, a watchmaker of Swiss origin, in his St. Petersburg shop, for the Russian elite during Tsarist Russia period in the early days of the 20th century.
This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive, museum level collection of a retired IAF pilot that we are delighted to offer for sale in our website. In 2016 we serviced a small portion of his collection that was later auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial part of the collection for sale; these include repeaters, chronographs, Hunter-cases (Savonettes) and open faces pocket watches, most complex and interesting antique Swiss and American pocket watches of the finest standards.
The watch houses an early Ulysse Nardin hi grade large crown set caliber which is made of German silver and decorated with Geneve stripes in overall excellent condition, running on 17 jewels. The movement is cased in a large 14K solid gold 'Savonette' (Hunter style) case with firm solid gold bow, original crown, good hinges and lift spring, mint savonette crystal and overall fantastic condition with internal dust cover from 14K solid gold as well. The case has a net weight of 37 grams of gold.
The dial is a factory original enamel white with no visible damage featuring Arabic numerals and original set of classic hands.
