This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive pocket watch collection of an IAF pilot veteran that we are pleased to offer for sale in our website. An earlier portion of this collection was serviced by us in 2016 and auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial second part of this pocket watch collection for sale; these include repeaters, chronographs, Hunter-cases (Savonettes) and open faces antique pocket watches, most complex and interesting antique Swiss pocket watches, as well as American pocket watches of the finest standards.
The watch houses an early Longines 18.89M rare gilt finish manual wind/crown set caliber, in overall excellent condition, running strong and keeping accurate time with sub seconds on 16 jewels. The movement is cased in a slim and elegant fully hallmarked and original 14K all solid gold case with net gold weight of 25 grams, with original bow, crown and crystal.
The dial is a factory original hard enamel print over Sterling silver in washed gold finish in well preserved condition. It comes with the original set of classic Breguet hands.
This one of a kind Longines pocket watch measures 47,5mm side to side (excluding crown).
