This watch is part of a large and mostly impressive pocket watch collection of an IAF pilot veteran that we are pleased to offer for sale in our website. An earlier portion of this collection was serviced by us in 2016 and auctioned at Christie's Geneve. We are now pleased to offer the substantial second part of this pocket watch collection for sale; these include repeaters, chronographs, Hunter-cases (Savonettes) and open faces antique pocket watches of various makers and periods including some Swiss pocket watches, English pocket watches and American pocket watches.
The watch houses an early slim hi grade, gilt finished caliber with compensated balance and capped escapement in overall excellent condition, running strong and keeping accurate time with sub seconds on 17 jewels. The movement is cased in a relatively large yet slim, most elegant coin edged, fully hallmarked and original 18K all solid gold case including the internal dust cover (curvette) with net gold weight of 28 grams. Has a small crease near the four. The case has the correct French hallmarks for 18K Guarantees as well as E&Co. hallmark and C | P hallmark (Where the "|" appears as a narrow stemmed flower, perhaps a Tulip). These hallmarks may spill some more light on the makers of this phenomenal watch.
The dial is a factory original and in excellent condition with the original set of Breguet style hands.
