empressissi™ is pleased to offer this all original and well preserved GRUEN dress watch for men from the late 30s of a pre-Curvex series, yet curved and flowing design, ref. 401-351 in gold filled case with an early Swiss manual wind movement.
The watch houses an interesting 401 caliber which is an early attempt to make a small movement to fit a curved case with an auxiliary sub seconds pinion that is not directly attached to the 3rd wheel, running on 15 jewels. It is cased in a long and elegant 10K gold filled case with stainless back, has a near mint original mineral crystal and an original semi recessed crown.
The dial is an all original and most elegant silver two tone with classic Breguet numerals in gold plated and original set of hands.
This collectible GRUEN watch measures 22mm side to side (excluding crown) and 41mm from top lug to bottom lug and despite being designed for men, it is modest in size in today's standards.
Attached to this watch is a brand new, XL size 14mm wide genuine leather band in black and padded with a matching generic non-allergic buckle.
