empressissi™ is pleased to offer this elegant and relatively rare late 30s Art Deco WITTNAUER watch with a unique movement. WITTNAUER was the agent of Longines for north America and in addition sourced Swiss ebauche movements for their own line of watches. This watch is using the robust and large Revue Thommen 54 caliber made almost exclusively for Wittnauer during the 30s and later for some other makers as well. The size of the caliber also results in a relatively large watch which is more sought after nowadays. Fantastic Art Deco design in white gold filled. The watch houses a legendary Revue Thommen 54 manual wind caliber, running on 15 jewels with an indirect sub seconds. It is cased in a 14K white gold filled case in classic Art Deco barrel shape and has an original crown and near mint original mineral crystal.
The dial may have been restored in the past, it is a unique combination of pearl tone with silver index and numerals all embossed in the surface, in overall excellent condition with minimal signs and has an original set of hands.
This elegant Wittnauer model measures 24mm side to side (excluding crown) and 41mm from top lug to bottom lug.
Attached to this watch is a standard length brand new, 16mm wide quality padded genuine leather band in black tone with unsigned anti-allergic buckle in matching tone.
